Step 1: Check the Admission Requirements

Check the Admission Requirements to make sure you meet the eligibility criteria for a specific program.

Step 2: Pre-qualification Evaluation

Prospective students are asked to complete a pre-qualification form so that an Academic Program Coordinator may make a recommendation to the prospective student about his/her suitability for these programs.

Step 3: Apply to San Jose State University

After we have reviewed your pre-qualification materials, we will advise you on how to proceed with your application. When it is time to apply to SJSU, we will contact you with specific instructions. Please DO NOT submit your SJSU application until we have confirmed that the program is listed on the CSU Mentor website.

Please note that applying for admission to an off-campus cohort at San Jose State University is not a guarantee that the program will occur; cohorts must meet minimum enrollment level standards in order to take place. Please be aware that in the event a cohort does not launch due to low enrollment, any and all associated application fees cannot be refunded.

For Dual Degree applicants, additional files need to be sent to the Engineering Graduate Extended Studies inbox directly

  1. Unofficial GMAT or GRE Scores (Official Copy needs to be sent to the SJSU College of Business)
  2. Personal Statement / Statement of Purpose:
    Please state your purpose for applying to the MBA/MSE Dual Degree program. Include your plans for future occupation or profession, and any additional information that may aid the Admissions Committee in evaluating your preparation and your aptitude for study in your graduate business program. It should be 1.5 pages spaced and limited to approximately 500 words.
  3. 2 Letters of reference.
  4. Current resume

Step 4: Check your Admission Status

Login to MySJSU to check the status of your current application.

Refer to the "to-do" list for all documents still pending and needed for admission. Please submit all documents to SJSU GAPE office with the Document Submission Identification Form using the following address:
